@sinsofsal the younger brother of Salmuera opened just a few months ago…
Salmuera put up a high standard so we were really expecting a nice evening. On our visit to Salmuera we were told that the concept of their new place (Sins of Sal) is a combination of great Latin American bites and pre-made cocktails – what does that even mean? It means that their cocktails are very advanced and complicated regarding their making process but the end result is amazing and they can pour them straight from the tap – a minute after you order them. Well we were sceptical but also curious and we must say it was very hard to choose from their cocktail menu (which is on the pricey side) but all 3 cocktails we tried were – WOW!!!

And now the food…
We had:
Tacos Ostras
Tempura oyster, oyster cream, cabbage & coriander-lime mayo which were surprisingly good and even though the oysters were deep fried, there was still a deep and rich taste of the sea.

Molleja Tostadas
Sweetbread, spicy coca-cola, 9th gate salsa – We always try dishes with sweet bread (have you tried it before?) whenever we find them and it was great! The coca cola glaze really added the right amount of sweetness.

Birria Tacos
Pulled pork, birria stock & corn tortilla – were so good! The birria stock was so deep and rich!

Torta Libre
Brioche bun, nachos, Lechon (pork), jus de veau, chipotle mayo, cheese & fermented hot sauce – by far our favorite dish! You do have to take a nap after eating it as it is super heavy and is the exact definition of soul food

Well we did postpone our nap cause we did want something sweet at the end. So for dessert we had the homemade mini magnums with salted dulce de leche which did the job but wasn’t surprising as the food we just had.
Overall a great experience, a great place for a date or with friends – thinking about our next visit there 🙂
